The Galway Cycling Campaign has welcomed Galway City Council’s decision to ban large goods vehicles from parking on the Promenade in Salthill.
Lorries, trucks and Heavy Goods Vehicles will be banned from parking along the Prom within ‘the next few weeks’, according to the Council.

Cyclists have lodged objections to the new one-way street system proposed by city architects for area.

The Galway Cycling Campaign and the Garda Siochana have teamed up in a community initiative aimed at encouraging more cyclists to make sure that they can be clearly seen on the roads at night. The initiative is a response to reports that significant numbers of people are cycling on the streets in the dark without lights or adequate reflective gear.
